Red or Dead Bloggers Event 2014 – AW14
Our clothing collection has officially landed! It’s cool, sporty and fresh. And since we love to rave and shout about our products, as well as meet all our favourite style gurus (along with lotsa food and drink) we held our RODKEEPCOOL event here at our HQ in London.
To start the event – and since we always love going back to our roots as a quintessentially British brand – we had a classic red London bus pick the lucky ladies up, bringing them round to our offices. We’re pretty lucky to have such a great building, and all our bloggers agreed! They were led by our spotted prints down the spiral staircase and into the playground, where cute canapés, keepcool prints, and the team greeted them!
So first things first…the food. There were hot dogs, crabtinis, mac n’ cheese, mini burgers, chips – all to name but a few of the tasty treats that were on offer! The weather couldn’t have been better for an evening in the sunshine, as everyone sat on our multicoloured bean bags in the courtyard (and not to mention the presence of a cheeky water feature too), munching on the american and school themed food. Along with all the canapés, we had the experts at sluchbros join us, offering mango, cosmopolitan, mixed berry and home-made lemonade slushies to go perfectly with the heat. On top of this, Schweppes did an awesome job providing Ginger Beer, Elderflower, Bitter Lemon as well many other beverages to quench our thirst.
After everyone was refreshed, well fed and cooled out, Creative Director Katie Greenyer gave the girls an overview of Red or Dead, making sure everyone was up to scratch on their knowledge; starting from the roots of Wayne Hemmingway, through to being the ‘sick face of British fashion’, to Katie’s own story of working with the brand, finally ending on our #RODKEEPCOOL collection now at BANK. It’s always interesting to know what is known about our much-loved brand, as it means we get to see what we can work on to help you all the get the brand you love. Anna Ward, Senior Designer at Red or Dead, then went on to go over the seasonal trend book, explaining and detailing the likes of where we draw our inspiration from for our collections and prints. After having a good chin-wag about the collection, we got the girls energized again with not only amazing cupcakes from super baker Lisa Culff, but also viewing, touching, rubbing – you name it – and trying on our products. Our collection is heavy in varsity, back to school, and college madness themes, giving a sporty luxe feel overall. It was all so well received by our bloggers, and we were chuffed with the evening. Glasses, bags, tights, clothing, shoes, and bikes were all on display for the ladies to play with. We also gave exclusive access to key pieces from our archive, featuring the likes of the globe dress, space baby high neck mesh top with matching boots, as well as our sports ball print skirt and tops. Fashion heaven for sure. It looked and was ACE.
We had our photobooth area prepped with speech bubbles for our crazy guests to write their fashion mad thoughts, and definitely got a few good snaps! Sadly saying this, all good things must come to an end, and the girls were whisked off back to their bus, ready to return home; although not without one of our Spacebaby goody bags. It was an amazing evening, with all of us, bloggers and Red or Dead team alike, enjoying it hugely. We love meeting our followers of the brand, old and new, and are so excited about our clothing drop, that we just had to party, celebrate and toast to it. To all you ladies who came, you made the evening pretty amazing, so lots of thanks and weirdness from the Red or Dead team 🙂 bloomzy, chopstickpanorama, Fashion Your Seatbelts, GeorginaDoes, Ice Cream Phoenix, Inmysundaybest, JenElectro, MyGlassesAndMe, meganellaby, shinythoughts and TheFashionAche
