Retail Design Student Awards
The Red or Dead team work closely with universities across the country hosting competitions that give students the chance to work on a live brief and if they’re short listed, showcase their work in front of industry professionals. Recently we ran a multi university competition in conjunction with the Retail Design Student Awards.
We set a brief for Manchester Metropolitan University and the University of Westminster to design a retail space with in a retail space. The students had to design a Red or Dead shopping experience that would exist, for a short time, within an existing store such as John Lewis or liberties or Selfridges. The best entries would be shortlisted and whittled down by the judging panel and the winner was to announced at the Retail Design Expo.
As always we were blown away by the creativity and hard work that all the students displayed. We saw everything that you could imagine and more, from virtual reality experiences in store that show you what the clothes look like before you have even tried them on, to a messy bedroom where you have to fine the red or dead products in the chaos, to a retail experience / feminist activate centre.
After a long deliberation process we found our winners.
