Archive Bonanza!

At Red or Dead towers we were rooting through our archive this week, doing a bit of spring cleaning…Well a bit might be an understatement. It’s been so long since we had a good look at our vintage stock we forgot just how much beautiful shoes and specs we had just tucked away. So many memories so much hard work and all worth it.

Camden Market

We’re working on our new website and we thought “what better way to get inspired than to return to our roots at camden market!” We had so much fun taking pictures and eating delicious food to inspire our new takeaway themed website. We hope you have as brilliant a time visiting our new website as we did visiting our home away form home where it all started.

HOT ROD!

We love a good archive print at Red or Dead and since we have so many we thought to ourselves “why not turn them into badges?” and so it began! But whats a good badge without a charity shop denim jack? Our Autumn/Winter Schuh photoshoot is going to be one of our best to date. Combining all of our old prints with our new shoes. We can’t wait to share the results with you guys so keep your eyes peeled.

London Design Week

I managed to break away from my desk Friday afternoon to visit just a small section of London Design week- 22-25 September. A festival that really does provide a stage for companies, individuals, organisations, and nations to showcase a diversity of, research, developments ranging from practical, commercial, flamboyant, conceptual and radical design. The festival is set up within different design district across London- so quite impossible to do in one day (let alone an afternoon) So I hit on The Shoreditch Design Triangle. http://www.londondesignfair.co.uk My highlights are: http://rothschildbickers.com falling over their pop up... Amy Winehouse Foundation is FIVE!

Founded on Amy’s Birthday 14th September 2011, the foundation was celebrating the work that it does in Amy’s name in her beloved Camden. The very same birth place as Red or Dead. So in order to help Amy Winehouse Foundation raise some well deserved cash to prevent the effects of drug and alcohol misuse and support, inform and inspire vulnerable and disadvantaged young people we at Red or Dead towers designed the special pop up stage and shop I even managed to get a tattoo! Massive shout out to Jon... Read More

London Design Biennale – Somerset House

Today I visited the London Design Biennale at Somerset House. Bringing 37 countries/ territories together in London, with the Theme Discovering Utopia My morning started with Sir John Sorrell in Conversation with Ian Callum, Currently serving as Director of Design at Jaguar, Ian has been responsible for some of the most celebrated cars of his generation, including the Escort RS Cosworth, the Aston Martin DB7 and Vanquish.  The relationship between footwear and car designers has always intrigued me and I left the mornings talk feeling inspired that his idea of Design Utopia was similar...
