New York! New York!

Such a whirlwind trip visiting our Manhattan based offices and a potential intern from the New York Fashion Institute. With only two nights and two days, not long enough to do much in the way of retail therapy and sight-seeing, I managed to get a hell of a lot done.     Highlights:   Muji flagship store which takes Muji Lifestyle to new levels.   Saks 5th Ave displayed beautiful windows in-cooperating my favourite thing – SHOES!   Even found time to squeeze an evening visit to “Beauty and Essex” – an uber cool restaurant... Red or Dead takes Hong Kong

What a busy but exciting week in Honk Kong with our Specsavers buyer Stig designing the Red or Dead 2017 collection! – Not only is Hong Kong a great place to get straight to the factories, ensuring we’re at the fore-front of innovation and fashion, it’s also a remarkable place to see all the designer collections in store. Take a peek at some of my pictures from shop floor trying on to designing the range. – KT X

PARIS FASHION WEEK : 2015/16 ROUND UP

Valentino, we salute you ! The designers runway show served as a filming location for the movie “Zoolander”. Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller) and his nemesis, Hansel McDonald (Owen Wilson) strutted their stuff down the runway, sporting their infamous zoolander pout. Watch the footage here. Chanel took us back in time to the Gabrielle brasserie in the Grand Palais. Bow-tied waiters busied themselves clearning glasses and making coffees, while the models took their seats and browsed the ‘menu’. In terms of the clothes, it was a modern take on Chanel’s infamous tweed and... Read More

Red or Dead’s AW14/15 NO.1 TOP TREND

FUR FUR FUR… (Mixed with a little bit of knitwear too of course). Fur is the quick and easy way to glam up any outfit, and it’s all about keeping you warm! This winter, it’s about big and bold colourful statements of fur – particularly oversized coats and jackets – and to raunch it up a little, hairy accessories like fur collars and bags. It’s fun and fluffy, and will always come back round in the ever-revolving wheel of fashion trends. It was on nearly every catwalk, and will be in any... Read More

Here’s to 2015

Who read that hilarious article from the Huffington Post Online? ‘21 Things To Stop Giving A Shit About In 2015‘.  We loved it here at ROD HQ, so we’ve decided to pull a few new year’s notes together that we want to follow in 2015! Tell us what you think… Strong, not Skinny Okay, so let’s face it, most of us would love to lose those extra pounds and be able to to squeeze into those size 6 jeans… But truth be told, skinny is slowly making it’s way out of the desired... History Trip – No.3 AW14 trend

Disco fever? Garish prints? Mix and match, Pic n’ Mix? Swinging silhouettes? Exactly. Absolute absurdity. But really, we all love taking a trip back to the 60’s, 70’s and 90’s. Why? Because you could create any type of fashion madness you wanted. In the Autumn/Winter catwalks, there were lots of A-line silhouettes, bright colours, psychedelic patterns, and tailoring; all key in 60’s fashion. However, they are brought to life for a 2014/15 fashionista; short mini dresses are given a twist by using metallic materials; bright statement accessories are thrown in; even more daring... Red or Dead’s summer trend countdown

Hotting up our summer at number 3 is… ‘THE CAPE’ !… And no, not the superhero type, but the super fashion HOT type. As the weather is heating up, us ladies are getting our legs out, and there’s no better way to complete an outfit than with a beautiful trail left behind you; enter, THE CAPE. Depending on what style of look you’re going for, a long cardigan can often add a boho feel to your outfit;  a slouchy and easy style for example, coupled with some shorts. Or, if... Read More
